The TRX is an innovative piece of exercise training equipment. I work clinically with patients who present with a conditions ranging from chronic musculoskeletal pain to recurrent sport injuries. I also spend a lot of time evaluating various exercise equipment and training tools for discussion in the many courses that I teach for Kinetic Control and Performance Stability.

The TRX can be used and adapted for:

  • Low threshold motor control retraining of uncontrolled movement
  • High threshold strength training
    • Core strengthening – especially for rotation control training of the core stabiliser muscle using asymmetrically limb loading
    • Power strengthening of the limb and girdle mobiliser muscles
  • Training core stability with:
    • the neutral core
    • the non-neutral core
  • Unstable base training: especially for eccentric control and deceleration of momentum between the limbs and the core . This is an important factor in the injury rehab for return to sport.

I have become quite a fan of exercise tools that are versatile, portable, simple to set up and use, and value for money. The TRX is all of these.
